Top 50 Women in Tech - 2021
In the modern, contemporary world, the gender roles of the bygone era are fast diminishing. Since 2015, the number of women in senior leadership has grown, particularly in the C-suite where the representation of women has increased from 17 percent to 21 percent. Today, nearly 44 percent of companies have three or more women in their C-suite, up from 29 percent of companies in 2015. These statistics serve as a positive reinforcement of past studies that have shown how the female brain is naturally wired for long-term strategic vision and community building, and certain skills come easily to women, such as determination, attention to detail, and measured thinking.
We are currently seeing many brilliant women assuming leadership positions that are changing the old business paradigm. There are ambitious and capable women now running influential organizations to activate dominant changes in the world through innovative technologies and policies. And this emergence of female leaders is only expected to become a greater centrifugal force for good in the coming years.
So, in celebration of this resilient tribe of women who are moving the technology sector forward, CIOReview has compiled a list of some of the top women thought leaders, entrepreneurs, and CEOs in the industry. These innovators and influencers run some of the world's biggest tech companies and most promising startups, propelling the kind of future we want to be a part of.
